Carter used a ball-control ground game and a stingy defense to record a 14-3 win, that moved Carter to 3-0 and dropped Plano 2-1. Southlake Carroll Coach Can't "Dodge" National Spotlight

Everyone who knows anything about Texas high school football knows the Todd Dodge story.

He's built a national powerhouse football program at Southlake Carroll. The Dragons have a 63-1 record in the last four years with four appearances and three titles in Texas' 5A championship games. The Dodge Dynasty has resulted in two mythical national championships, and miles of offensive statistics to numerous to list.

This year the spotlight will be a little brighter for Dodge as his son Riley takes over the reigns of the Dragons high octane offense. And that story isn't going unnoticed nationally, as the New York Times shines it's own spotlight on the Dallas suburban school.

Time Change In District 21

Friday Night Lights will get started a little bit earlier in District 21-3A this year. The District 21 Committee has approved moving the start time for district games from a 7:30 start time to 7 o'clock. The change will take effect for the upcoming season.

2006 Texas Football Classic Match-Ups Set

If you're a high school football fan, at least in your lifetime, you need to take a trip to San Antonio to check-out the Texas Football Classic, which has been kicking-off the high school football season in high-style since 1999.

These year's Classic features five games with some of the best teams from around the football-crazed state. Here's the line-up that will make the Alamodome shine over three days:

What type of teams will you get to see when you go to the Texas Football Classic? Seven schools in seven years of the Classic have opened their seasons with a victory in the Texas Football Classic before eventually playing for a 5A or 4A state championship.

Making Little Strides After Devasting Injury On High School Football Field

One minute you're enjoying your life as a high school football player, the next minute you're wondering if you'll ever be able to do anything for yourself.

Nat Little is locked in the game of his life as he tries to comeback from an injury that left him paralyzed during a spring football game while he was a junior at Carrollton R.L. Turner High School. A year-and-a-half after the injury, Little is making small strides, which are described in a great article in the Dallas Morning News.

Friday Night Lights Coming To TV

After making over $61-million worldwide, Friday Night Lights director Peter Berg is bringing Texas football to television.

NBC has signed on for a Fall 2006 episodic series about football in Odessa. According to reports in Variety magazine, unlike the movie, which focused on Odessa Permian's 1988 season, the TV series will be set in the present day.

Here's hoping that the television series isn't a flop, like most movie sequels are.

I for one believe that the movie was done perfectly, and perfection shouldn't be touched for the sake of making more money.
